Can you outrun the Wildman? Encounter the lore for yourself as you race through the heart of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. Experience the thrill of a pristine open-water lake swim, rolling green hills with distilleries dating back to the birthplace of America’s only spirit—Bourbon Whiskey—and an exciting downtown finish.

You’ll also race through the famed territories of the Wildman himself in historic Anderson County, where recorded sightings of a Bigfoot-like creature date back to the 1700s.

Course Description

Swim Course

Is a rectangle shape course with an average water temperature of 73 degrees.

Half Bike Course.

Has a max elevation gain of 928 feet. The course is all country rolling hills with no severe climbs.

Has a max elevation of 624 feet. The course is all country rolling hills with no severe climbs.

Run Courses

Both the Half and International runs have rolling hills on rural shaded country roads.

The International run has overall gain of 183 feet while the half gains approximately 567 feet.

This event is sanctioned by USA Triathlon, the national governing body for the sport of Triathlon.

We suggest all our participants become familiar with USA Triathlon Rules and Regulations. Officials will be present enforcing these rules.

Become a legend! The celebrations begin once you cross the line at our exciting downtown finish. You’ll be welcomed by friends, family, and fellow racers to an energetic post-race festival at the iconic Anderson County courthouse, full of great food, drinks, and people!

Completion Timelines

For safety reasons, Georgia Multisports Productions has established course-completion timelines as follows:

Half Distance

  • Swim: The swim must be completed within 1½ hours
  • Bike: 4½ hours or total of 6 hours of swim and bike
  • Run: 2½ hours or total of 8½ hours to complete the race

International Distance

  • Swim: The swim must be completed within 1 hour
  • Bike: 2½ hours or total of 3½ hours of swim and bike
  • Run: 1½ hour or total of 5 hours to complete the race

Gear & Timing System

Wet Suits

Each age group participant shall be permitted to wear a wet suit without penalty in any event sanctioned by USA Triathlon up to and including a water temperature of 78 degrees Fahrenheit. When the water temperature is greater than 78 degrees, but less than 84 degrees Fahrenheit, age group participants may wear a wet suit at their own discretion, provided however that participants who wear a wet suit within this temperature range shall not be eligible for prizes or awards. Age group participants shall not wear wet suits in water temperatures equal to or greater than 84 degrees Fahrenheit.

Bike Techs

Danville Bike and Footwear will be available race morning for minor adjustments.

Timing System

This event will be timed using the My Laps Timing System. (5 splits provided.)
